A Dozen Hits, Two Dozen Bases

The Red Sox defeat the Tigers 6-4 Wednesday night. Both teams collected 12 hits, but the Red Sox, by way of three home runs, collected 33% more total bases than the Tigers. That made the difference. Miguel Cabrera collected three doubles as he knocked out four hits, the Tigers getting five EXBH total. Boston recorded three double to go with their three home runs.

The Red Sox are still in last place, but just 2 1/2 games out of first place in the AL East.
