Control Wins Out

Felix Hernandez and A.J.Burnett each pitched well Wednesday afternoon, but the King won the day as the Mariners prevailed over Pittsburgh 2-1. A.J. hurt himself with two walks and two wild pitches before he allowed a hit, and that was enough for the Mariners to score the first run of the game. Without the wildness, Jesus Montero‘s home run would only have tied the game. Hernandez walked just one without a wild pitch, allowing him to survive six hits. He lowers his ERA to 1.53.

On the other hand, maybe Burnett just didn’t have the will to winTM. 🙂
