Francisco Liriano and two relievers combined to shutout the Mariners as the Twins win their eighth in a row, 4-0. Liriano pitched an outstanding game, walking two and striking out 11 in seven innings of work. That lowers his ERA to 3.18. With the game rather low scoring, it flew by in 2:14.

Jason Kubel had the big hit, a bases loaded double that pushed across the first three runs for the Twins. Kubel hasn’t been hitting for much power this year, but he made that one count.
