After two sleepless night worrying about the Zack Greinke trade, Rany Jazayerli bursts forth on the deal. He’s upset that Zack is gone, but likes the trade:

Still, looking over the Royals’ prospect list is a nice reminder that, as painful as it is to lose Greinke, this trades sets up the organization to win as soon as 2012, and to be a potentially dominant team in the AL Central from 2013 to 2017.

On the other hand, as Rany notes earlier in the article, Dayton Moore failed to improve the team at the major league level in five years at the helm. There are no excuses now.
