Ballpark Age

Beyond the Boxscore looks at the falling age of major league ballparks. The second stadium building boom of the 1970s resulted in buildings that lasted a much shorter time than those built in the early part of the 20th century. Part of that was the multi-use function of the stadiums, part of it was missing the idea of the luxury suite. I wonder if the newer parks built since 1990 will hold up like their counterparts from the early 20th century, of if some new innovation over the next 30 years will keep their lives short as well.
