Xander Bogaerts hit streak came to an end Friday night as he went 0 for 3 with two walks in a 5-2 Blue Jays victory. David Ortiz and Dustin Pedroia picked up hits, however, and now each of them owns an 11-game hit streak to tie for the major league lead. Given that the Jackie Bradley, Jr. streak was followed by the Bogaert streak, a Red Sox player owned one of the best hit streaks since May 2nd.
The Blue Jays have now won two in a row and eight of their last nine. They are now 2 1/2 games out as the defending AL East champs start to play like that team. The starting pitchers performed well in that time, despite a high walk total.
