Friday night provided fans with a number of thrilling, tight, edge of your seat games. Three went into extra innings as the Blue Jays edged the Orioles 4-3 in ten innings, the Mets beat Milwaukee 2-1 in eleven innings, and the Cardinals topped the Pirates 9-3 in 12 innings.

The Nationals spotted the Phillies four runs early, but staged another big run comeback as they helped Stephen Strasburg go 10-0 with a 9-6 win.

The Royals and White Sox combined for seven home runs, including multi-home run games by Eric Hosmer and Alex Avila as the White Sox win 7-5, Chris Sale winning his 10th game.

San Diego score four runs in the top of the ninth to beat Colorado 7-5, Wil Myers hitting his 13th homer and Nolan Arenado blasting number 19.

The Marlins had luck with sevens, scoring seven runs in the seventh inning to erase a 5-1 deficit as they beat the Diamondbacks 8-6.

The Mariners survived a late surge by the Rangers to win 7-5 at home and gain a game in the AL West. Mitch Moreland and Dae-Ho Lee both homered twice in that game.

The Red scored two runs in bottom of the seventh to beat the Athletics 2-1. The good news for the Athletics is Sonny Gray returned to form.

Finally, the pitching duel of the night featured Clayton Kershaw against Johnny Cueto and Kershaw wins 3-2 as Justin Turner homers in the top of the ninth to break the tie. The starters combined for 16 innings, no walks and 21 strikeouts.
