Tim Lincecum made a successful return to the majors as the Angels beat the Athletics 7-1. Lincecum pitched six innings. He allowed two walks and four hits, but only struck out two batters. While I was watching, I saw a couple of good plays behind him, so if he’s going to continue to allow batters to put the ball in play, he’ll need a good defense behind him. Nonetheless, it was a very encouraging outing for the former Cy Young Award winner.
