No Question

The Red Sox rotation posed a question mark for the team going into 2018. While Chris Sale was dependable, Rick Porcello underperformed and David Price sent most of the season injured. With seven shutout innings Thursday afternoon, Red Sox starters now own a 0.86 ERA. They have been consistent, not allowing more than one run in any start.

The big caveat is that they faced Tampa Bay and Miami, neither of which is supposed to have a powerhouse offense. A good pitching staff should hammer these teams, and that’s what the Red Sox are doing. Their three-true outcomes are excellent, and if nothing else, they are building confidence along with the wins.

Boston won the game 3-2 in 12 innings.
