Games of the Day

The Rays and Red Sox take the field again as Jake Faria faces Rick Porcello. Faria is approaching 100 MLB innings, and so far shows a good strikeout rate, but needs to improve his walk and home run rates. Porcello is off to a good start in what the Red Sox hope is a bounce back year, allowing the Rays one run in 5 1/3 innings in Porcello’s first start of the season.

Seattle sends Mike Leake against the Twins and Jose Berrios. Since joining the Mariners last September, Leake owns a 4-1 record and a 2.54 ERA. He walked just five batters in 39 innings. Berrios started his 2018 season with a shutout, allowing just three hits and one walk.

Finally, the Braves try to take advantage of Coors Field to add to their run total as Anibal Sanchez takes on the Rockies and Chad Bettis. Sanchez had a tough time finding a home, but he allowed just one hit in three innings so far. He has not pitched at Coors Field since 2011. Bettis is 14-8 at home in his career despite a 5.25 ERA.
