Compelling Duel

The Blue Jays and Orioles are scoreless in the top of the eighth inning. Andrew Cashner held the Jays to four hits and three walks through seven innings, and he’s out of the game in favor of Miguel Castro. Aaron Sanchez has pitched even better, allowing no hits while walking four. He’s six outs away from a no-hitter, but he’ll need the Toronto offense to find a run at some point. Sanchez has thrown just 82 pitches.

Update: The Blue Jays get a run on an outfield throwing error. With Justin Smoak on second, Yangervis Solarte singles to right, and Smoak stops at third. Anthony Santander throws the ball in by everyone, and it ends up in the third base dugout, and Smoak goes home. Toronto leads 1-0 in the top of the eighth inning.

Update: Tim Beckham leads off the bottom of the eighth with a double, breaking up the no-hitter.
