Debut Battle

Rick Porcello of the Tigers and Ricky Romero of the Blue Jays hooked up Thursday afternoon in a battle of pitchers making their major league debuts. Romero came out on top as the Blue Jays topped the Tigers 6-2. Both showed good control as Porcello walked one in five innings and Romero walked two in six innings. Romero, however, gave up one fewer hit in one more inning and one fewer home run as he becomes the first of the two to record a W.

Adam Lind continues to sock for Toronto, collecting three more hits including his second home run. He’s batting .438 with an .813 slugging percentage.
