Joe Mauer goes 3 for 5 in the Twins 7-3 loss to the Indians, the catcher’s 10th multi-hit game in his last 11 contests. He brings his batting average up to .378 with the outing, and lowers the odds of his hitting .400 to somewhere between 1 in 2300 to 1 in 3100. They’re still very long, but every day he can post a .500 or better average means he moves another step closer to the magical number. He now projects out to 520 AB for the season, meaning he’ll need to go 76 for 171, a .444 BA, to hit .400 for the season.
Mauer goes 3-5, and three of your last five posts have been about the “unstoppable Mauer.”

Not that I’m complaining…
@Anonymous: I was out and about today, so blogging was limited. I was just keeping my eye on Mauer. Plus, it is a great story.
