Freddy Sanchez knew he would need knee surgery before he was traded to the Giants. Presumably, although it is not stated, the Giants knew it, too. Incomprehensible!
That’s a wow. It’s tough to tell what’s going on with the Giants right now. They seem to be stuck on being just good enough to stay in a race. Maybe they should go back to what works, finding the best hitter in baseball and signing him to a huge, long-term contract.


Hey David, thanks for the nod to RMC! I would be remiss not to mention Bay City Ball as my source for the Sanchez story. The whole deal–giving up a top prospect–has a lot of us shaking our heads. It has been a great season, but the bitter taste of management failures will linger long.
