Here are my ballots:
AL COY: Robinson Cano, Hideki Matsui, Carl Pavano
NL COY: Chris Carpenter, Yovani Gallardo, Troy Tulowitzki
AL Executive: Brian Cashman, Tony Reagins, Jon Daniels
NL Executive: Ruben Amaro, Ned Colletti, John Mozeliak
My exclusion of Aaron Hill seems to be the biggest difference between me and most of the voters. It struck me that Hill was never really there, so how could he come back. Cano had a year that made one question the Yankees signing him to a four year contract, then came back to have a career year. I’m fairly happy with all my other picks.
Brian Cashman???…EOY!!! Yeah it takes a lot of brains to take a blank cheque book and sign all the best players. The sheep who voted this should see if they can get their lobotomy’s reversed. Maybe the voters thought that EOY stood for “Elite Of Yesmen”. The hardest part of Cash Man’s day is finding a pen with enough ink to fill in all the zero’s. What the IBWAA needs are a few more people with actual imaginations. The current group of butt-kissers should be retired back to their homes in the press boxes of old Yankee Stadium. Your average homeless bum could do Brian’s job: Open cheque book, see what all-star player wants, write that figure on cheque and sign. Wow! That’s pretty tough!
