Players A to Z, Josh Fields

Josh Fields played third base for the Chicago White Sox in 2009. The Kansas City Royals recently acquired Josh in a trade. Fields uses a good eye for the strike zone to draw a decent number of walks, but he hits so poorly that his career OBP stands at .302. His power isn’t bad, with an isolated power of .187. If he could get his batting average up 50 points, he would be a useful offensive player.

Teams could live with his offense if he fielded his position well. Unfortunately, his fielding has been a negative the last three years. Of course, with those numbers he’ll fit in well on the Royals.
