Joel Pineiro held the Yankees to one run over seven innings of work as the Angels downed New York 5-3. Most impressively, Pineiro did not walk a batter as he struck out seven. The Yankees are a very selective team, so Joel was fooling them this afternoon. Joel cut his walks down greatly with St. Louis last season, and that control appears to have carried over to this season. If that continues, he’ll make the loss of John Lackey easier to take.
Another day game in the Bronx? Man, this is irritating. Looks like I’ll have to enable text alerts on my iPhone for the MLB At Bat app.
