Manny Being Texan?

Baseball Time in Arlington tries to ascertain why the Rangers are in the lead to sign Manny Ramirez. His signing, according to the author, would mean Mitch Moreland returns to the minors:

There are only a few explanations that I can conjure up for this apparent dichotomy between organizational opinion and action: (a) the Rangers are smoke-screening the American League by feeding garbage to their beat writers, and aren’t nearly as high on Moreland as they have led us to believe, (b) the Rangers liked Moreland enough from the standpoint of being a long-term asset that they put the kibosh on trading him (even for Garza), but figure the overall improvement derived from going with Manny/Young over Young/Moreland justifies the cost in money and lost major league development time, or (c) there’s something rotten in Denmark, and those conspiracy theories that some have no doubt been internalizing aren’t actually so far off base, after all. I’m inclined to lean towards option (b), but that’s merely an educated guess and not something I’d be willing to place a heavy wager on.

Personally, I would try to trade Michael Young. A third baseman who can hit still has some value. The White Sox are unsettled at third base, so maybe a deal could be reached.
