A Bird in the Hand is Worth Two on the DL

The Orioles disabled the right side of their infield, sending Derrek Lee and Brian Roberts to the disabled list.

First baseman Lee has a left oblique strain and was put on the 15-day disabled list, while second baseman Roberts was put on the seven-day list with concussion-like symptoms after a headfirst dive into first base in Monday’s game at Boston.

Neither was hitting very well, so this may turn out to be addition by subtraction.

Yankees finally just got a single! They’ve got plenty of doubles, triples & home runs, but no singles. And there’s a second one.

How many games featured only extra base hits, by either one or both teams?

rbj » Since 1957, I count 763 team games, although a lot of those were low hit games. The most hits in which all were for extra bases was on 8/18/1998, when the Braves knocked out nine doubles.

David>> Thanks. Maybe we should add other parameters, such as at least 1 double, 1 triple and 1 HR.
