The Battle of Cleveland

After winning the first two games of the series by one run, the Indians completed the sweep of the Reds with a 12-4 blow out. Asdrubal Cabrera led the charge with a five for five day, hitting two home runs and driving in five runs. The win keeps the Indians lead in the AL Central at seven games, the largest division lead in the majors.

In a way, the Indians remind me of the 1984 Tigers. Detroit started 35-5 that season, and of course the Indians are no where near that record. Detroit, however built a big lead against a division with decent competition and never looked back. After 44 games they were 36-8, but just 5 1/2 games in the lead. Sometimes a team does win a division early, and the way Cleveland keeps winning, this may just be their year.

The Indians are 20-2 against Bal, Bos (caught them duringa 2-10 start), KCR, Det (caught them slumping) and Sea.

Be interesting to see how they handle the Red Sox at home again where they are 18-4. If they win this series I might believe they are for real.
