Another Low Run Win

The Twins defeat the Dodgers 1-0. According to the broadcast, it was the seventh 1-0 game involving the Twins this season, and their fifth win in those games. Minnesota is now 5-13 when scoring one or zero runs, the best record in the majors. Cleveland is next at 3-14. The Padres lead the majors in most games scoring one run or less, 23, and they’ve only won one of those. The Dodgers are close, playing their 21st such game this afternoon.

    Not sure why you’re creating a category of wins when scoring one run or fewer. Other than via forfeit, which is exceedingly rare, how does a team win when scoring fewer than one run?

    TSG » Yes, you’re right. I guess I wanted to capture the number of extremely low scoring games. I will admit that the dog kept us up last night due to a thunder storm, and I’m thinking at less than 100% today.

    @David,

    Happens to the best of us, no sweat. Hope you and your human/canine family sleep well tonight, storm-free.

    David >> I fully understand. My hounds don’t like thunder or fireworks, which makes this time of year less than optimal.

    Another 1-0 game, Angels beat the Nats. Could be yet another in Wrigley, 0-0 through six. Plus a couple 2-1 games late. Thrill a minute.
