Pirates Sack the Cubs

Andrew McCutchen celebrated his All-Star inclusion with a home run and five RBI as the Pirates blew out the Cubs 9-1. Alex Presley and Neil Walker both collected multi-hit games and scored two runs each, while Paul Maholm walked none and struck out eight in 7 2/3 innings. The win puts a punctuation mark on a fine first half of the season for the Pittsburgh club. The group turned four double plays today as they hit, pitched and defended well.

If the Brewers and Cardinals lose this afternoon, the Pirates will go into the All-Star break in first place in the NL Central.
