Dave Fleming wonders if James Loney can win a home run title this season:
So what makes James Loney a (long-shot) candidate to lead the NL in homeruns?
Or: Ted Kluszewski, Loney’s closest comparable player.
The two careers ran in parallel through their age 27 seasons. At age 28, Ted exploded for 40 home runs, then led the league at age 29 with 49. I’m not putting any money on Loney.
