Matt Joyce batted third for the injured Evan Longoria on Tuesday night and supplied the power the Rays needed as they beat the Mariners 3-1. Joyce homered and tripled to drive in two runs, enough for the victory. Matt Moore pitched more like he did in his cup of coffee last season, walking one and striking out seven for his first win of the season. The Rays stay in first place another day as they adjust to life without their star third baseman.
