Jered Weaver comes out for the ninth inning against the Twins with a 9-0 lead, one walk, eight strikeouts, and no hits allowed. He’ll face Jamey Carroll, Denard Span, and Alexi Casilla.

Carroll flies out to left for the first out.

Update: Span falls behind 0-2. Denard works the count to 2-2, fouls off a pitch, then takes strike three on the inside edge of the plate.

Update: Casilla hits the first pitch hard to deep right, but Torii Hunter tracks it down for the third out, and Jered Weaver throws a no-hitter! It’s the ninth by an Angel pitcher, and now other Angels have more than Nolan Ryan. 🙂

Update: Weaver threw 121 pitches, 77 for strikes. He walked one and struck out nine, with another batter reaching on a strikeout + passed ball. Congratulations to Jered on the rare feat!
