It Still has an LA in It

The Dodgers signed Bobby Abreu:

Abreu, 38, is likely to serve as a left-handed bat off the bench for the Dodgers. He’s also likely to make occasional starts in the outfield. Dodgers manager Don Mattingly is familiar with Abreu, who played for the Yankees while Mattingly was a coach there.

The Dodgers recently have been using a combination of Jerry Hairston Jr. and Tony Gwynn Jr. in left field. Juan Rivera, who began the year as the primary left fielder, has been limited by a hamstring injury.

It sounds like Bobby will have the role he didn’t want with the Angels with the Dodgers. Maybe getting released made Abreu realize his limitations.
