The Angels placed Jason Vargas on the disabled list with a blood clot in his armpit:
Vargas, 30, has been one of the few reliable pitchers for the Angels this season. He’s 6-4 with a 3.65 ERA and 1.36 WHIP in 91 1/3 innings in his first season with Los Angeles. He was acquired last winter from Seattle in a trade for Kendrys Morales. In his last seven starts, however, Vargas is 5-1 with a 3.06 ERA.
No information was given as to a possible return date for Vargas.
I wish him a speedy recovery.
