Castillo Passes

It’s a bad day for former Red Sox players as Frank Castillo drowned on Sunday:

Castillo, who attended Eastwood in in the early 1980s, drowned in Bartlett Lake in Arizona near his home Sunday afternoon.

Authorities say divers are going back into the water today to look for his body and say Castillo was on a pontoon boat with a friend when he decided to go swimming.

Castillo’s friend reportedly called for help when Castillo did not come back up out of the water.

My thoughts go out to Castillo’s friends and family as they deal with this horrible tragedy. Castillo was just 44 years old.

Castillo was a control artist, walking just 2.9 batters per nine innings for his career. That control probably cost him hits and home runs, however, as he finished his career with a 4.56 ERa.
