Brandon McCarthy leads the majors in pitcher strikeouts and home runs allowed:

The Dodgers’ right-hander became the first pitcher in major league history to give up four home runs in a game in which he walked none and struck out at least 10.

He ended the evening as the major league leader in home runs allowed — and in strikeouts. In 12 innings this season, he has given up six home runs and struck out 19.

He allowed just six hits on balls in play, and just one walk. He should be giving up a a lot solo home runs, but five have come with men on base, and only one strikeout came with men on base. In a way he’s pitching backwards. Ks with men on base are the real killer.
