Games of the Day

Oakland and the Yankees finish their series with Jesse Chavez taking on Masahiro Tanaka. Chavez has not fared well in day games this season, 1-5 with a 3.89 ERA in six starts and one relief appearance. Tanaka allowed eight home runs in 37 innings since returning from the disabled list.

The Tigers travel to Minnesota for a big four-game series leading into the All-Star break between the division rivals. David Price faces Mike Pelfrey in game one. Price’s 2015 season is comparable to his 2012 Cy Young campaign. The main difference he’s walking fewer. Pelfrey owns a 1.80 ERA at home in seven starts, allowing just one of his five home runs at Target Field.

Finally, Garrett Richards and Felix Hernandez square off as the Angels visit the Mariners. Richards pitched well since returning from his 2014 injury, but isn’t quite blowing away batter as he did in 2014. The King posted a 5.51 ERA in June, but started off July by allowing two runs in seven innings.

Enjoy!
