Rookie Feat

The Reds beat the Cardinals 11-0, continuing the Cardinals poor September. (Reminds me of the way the 2000 Yankees finished the regular season.) The Reds tied a modern record as well:

It took Lamb six starts and plenty of damage control in this one to earn his first victory on a night when the Reds tied a modern Major League record by starting a rookie pitcher for the 41st consecutive game.

It has not been a pretty streak, the starters going 10-21 with a 5.28 ERA. They have been striking out a ton of batters, however. While they are all rookies, they are not young rookies, all between 23 and 25. So the Reds have this group under control through most of their prime seasons. They need to get their walks under control a bit, and they could mature into a nice unit.
