Dexter Fowler and Jorge Soler, the Cubs 1-2 hitters on Saturday, combined for four hits and two walks, including two doubles and a Soler home run. The score two and drive in three as the Cubs beat the Cardinals 6-3. Some early inning small ball worked, too, as twice the Cubs tried a safety squeeze in the second inning. One led to a two-base error, and both led to a run. Power and small ball both contributed to the Cubs win.
That evens the series at one win each, and Jake Arrieta will take the mound for the Cubs on Monday.
