The Padres may have found their lead-off hitter in Travis Jankowski. He did a good job at all level of the minor leagues at getting on base. After a poor first season in 2015, Jankowski is collecting hits and walks in equal amounts. After game one against the Cubs, he’s five for 20 with five walks, good for a .400 OBP. If he has found his comfort level in the majors leagues, I can see him posting and OBP for the year in the .330 to .350 range. The will give Wil Myers and Matt Kemp some RBI opportunities.
The Padres defeated the Cubs 7-4 as Jankowski scored two runs.
