There is a report that Manny Machado faces a four-game suspension and a fine for his fight with Yordano Ventura. No word on discipline for Ventura yet, but I hope he goes for at last 20 games. Machado was at least defending himself. There’s no excuse for attacking the opposition with a baseball.
Nine games for Ventura. If he times it right, Ventura will miss one start. How is that fair?
Four games, the equivelant should be four starts, if not a fifth
I wonder if bench clearing brawls have been tracked over the years. I don’t seem to remember as many occurring during the 70s and 80s. It seems to be gaining steam only since the 90s.
Charles from Macon » I remember a huge one between the Red Sox and the Yankees in the 1970s in which Bill Lee was seriously injured. The Yankees seemed to target him in the brawl. There are more games now due to more teams, but I suspect the frequency hasn’t changed all that much.
