Too Clean

MLB set a record for inning with three strikeouts on nine pitches, a.k.a. an immaculate inning. Rick Porcello threw one tonight, and it was the eighth of the season. The 2014 held the record with seven, according to a message on my phone from MLB.

This of course is making me wonder if pitchers are wasting fewer pitches. Jim Kaat and Al Leiter differed on this, but going after batters on 0-2 should lead to good outcomes.
