The Ridiculous Mark Reynolds

Mark Reynolds is two for two so far this evening with a single and home run. That makes him 15 for 34 on the season, a .424 BA. While anything can happen in 100 at bats, some things are less probable than others. Reynolds owns a .239 career batting average. The probability of a .239 hitter getting at least 15 hits in 34 at bats is .0076. Not impossible, but not very likely.

He was not signed until April 17th of this year. A lot of teams missed out on a strong hitter. He’s helped Washington weather their injury bug. The Nationals lead the Orioles 3-1 in the fourth inning.

Update: Reynolds ends the night 2 for 4, hitting .417 for the year. The Nationals win 3-2.
