Games of the Day

The Tigers send Blaine Hardy against the Red Sox and Eduardo Rodriguez. Hardy moved into the rotation this year after four seasons as a reliever. He’s 2-0 with a 2.82 ERA as a starter, allowing just one home runs in 22 1/3 innings in that role. Rodriguez goes for his seventh win of the season which would top his 2017 total. He struck out 72 and walked just 20 batters in 60 1/3 innings.

The Mariners try to make it two in a row against the Astros and cement Seattle’s first place lead. Wade LeBlanc takes on Lance McCullers. LeBlanc pitched well on the road this season, with a 1.74 ERA in 20 2/3 innings. He’s walked one batter and struck out 16 away. McCullers goes for his eighth win of the season, which would be a new season high for him. He owns a 1.97 ERA at home versus 5.54 on the road. None of the six home runs hit off McCullers came at home.
