Freeman Saves the Day

Freddie Freeman homered in the bottom of the sixth inning Sunday night, and that was all the Braves needed to beat the Dodgers after blowing a 5-0 lead. The final was 6-5 Atlanta, sending the teams to a game four Monday afternoon. The Atlanta bullpen shutout the Dodgers during the last four innings, although they did allow three hits and four walks. The Dodgers had the tying run in scoring position in both the eight and the ninth innings, but failed to capitalize on the opportunities.

Kudos to Dodgers manager Dave Roberts who stuck with starter Walker Buehler after he gave up five runs in the second inning. Buehler pitched three shutout innings after that, which allowed the Dodgers to come back. Most would have pulled Buehler after the grand slam.
