Former president George H.W. Bush died Friday at age 94. He was a life long baseball fan. He played first base for Yale, with the unusual characteristic of throwing left and batting right. (Rickey Henderson is the most famous player do to the same.) He was a fixture at Astros games during the aughties, sitting in seats a couple of rows behind home plate with Barbara, his wife. Barbara would be scoring the games.
He led a long and full life, touching much of history over a 70 year span. My thoughts go out to his family and friends.
Captain of the Yale team that went to the first two CWS.
