The gap between first and second closed a bit in the Baseball Musings Batter Rankings. Christian Yelich went one for five in the 11-8 Angels win over the Brewers, while Anthony Rendon posted a two for four with a double in the Nationals 10-6 win over the Phillies. Rendon is now about 10 points behind Yelich. Mike Trout remains third, although he left the Angels game early. A groin strain left him day to day.
Michael Conforto breaks into the top five with a double, home run, and two walks in an eight run Mets outing, but the Twins beat New York 14-8, ending Jacob deGrom‘s quality start streak. Alex Bregman rounds out the top five as he doubled and walked in the Astros 6-3 win over the Yankees.
