Best Batter Today

Christian Yelich remains atop the Baseball Musings Batter Rankings after punishing the Cardinals once again. He is now 11 for 21 against St. Louis in six games. He hit eight home runs and a double, at least one home run in each game. He also drew seven walks for an amazing .643 OBP, while his slugging percentage stands at 1.714. If you think of slugging percentage as distance around the bases per at bat, Yelich is almost to second base each time.

Anthony Rendon remains in second place as he extends his hit streak to 14. Despite his offense, the Nationals fell once again as the Giants beat them 7-3. Cody Bellinger moves into third place as he did not play due to an injury after being hit by a pitch on his knee. Mike Trout drops to fourth after a one for four night. Michael Conforto remains fifth, homering and walking as the Phillies blow out the Mets 14-3.
