Best Batter Today

Mike Trout made a big move in the Baseball Musings Batter Rankings on Sunday. Cody Bellinger remains in first place, as he extended his hit streak to ten games. He is hitting “just” .300 during the streak, but with a .600 slugging percentage. Christian Yelich stays in second place with a two for four day.

Trout takes third place after going three for four with a walk. In his last 21 games Trout collected 25 hits and 20 walks, plus 14 extra-base hits. I suspect if you ask most baseball fans who is the best hitter in the majors, they will say Trout, so it’s good to seem him hitting well again.

Anthony Rizzo remains in fourth place as he drew a walk against the Cardinals, and Josh Bell drops to fifth place after a 1 for 4 day.
