Shutout Week Continues

Major League Games produced three more shutouts on Tuesday night, bringing the week’s total to nine (weeks go Sunday through Saturday). That is tied for sixth most in a week this season, and we have four days to go. Six weeks ago there were 21 shutouts, but the week needs just six more to move into second place alone.

Rookie Jordan Yamamoto of the Marlins pitched seven shutout innings for the second time in as many appearances. He allowed five hits and four walks in 14 innings, striking out 12. It’s tough to start a career better than that.
