Putting the daily ranks and scores of pitchers into a database allows use to look at the data visually. Something I’ve wanted to try for a long time was charting the daily ranks of pitchers who reached the number one slot to see when they got there and how close was the competition.
This Google Sheet holds a chart showing the daily ranks for the thirteen pitchers between 1984 and 1993 who held the number one Bill James Starting Pitcher rank for at least one day. One of the nice things about the Google Chart is that if you hover over a series line, the whole series is highlighted. Take a look and send me your feed back.
