Starlin Castro reportedly signs with the Nationals:
Free-agent second baseman Starlin Castro has reached a two-year, $12 million deal with the Washington Nationals, a source familiar with the deal confirmed to ESPN’s Jeff Passan on Friday.

That deal seems like a good one to me. Castro is better than a one WAR player, so $6 million a year is very good. I suspect the lower price is that the Nationals don’t expect him to be an every day player.
Castro had a lot of upside potential when he reached the majors, posting 2.7 and 3.1 WAR in his second and third years, seasonal ages 21 and 22. He never seemed to keep his concentration, however, and it showed especially in his defensive lapses. Now that he is about to turn 30, he might find some maturity and give the Nationals more than they bargained.
