The Cardinals take a 1-0 lead over the White Sox in their first inning back from the team being sidelined by COVID-19. They score on a walk and single that put two on, then after a strikeout, Tyler O’Neill and Matt Carpenter each get hit by a pitch to push a run across the plate. Carpenter did a nice job of turning his body to look like he was getting out of the way, but puts a piece of his body in the path of the ball.
White two out, Dexter Fowler singles in two more runs, and the Cardinals lead 3-0.
Update: The Cardinals send all nine starters to the plate, and lead 4-0 after the top of the first inning.
