Slamming Padres

Eric Hosmer of the Padres hit a grand slam Thursday night, setting a major league record:

In a baseball first, the Padres showed that the type of bat-splintering resilience — no team in MLB history had hammered grand slams in four straight games — the sleepy franchise has not seen in perhaps a decade and a half.

The Day by Day Database has grand slam data for 47 of the Padres 52 seasons, and they only achieved hitting four grand slams in 22 of those season. This is quite the feet from an unlikely team.
