Best Batter Today

The Braves go into the final day of the season with Marcell Ozuna first and Freddie Freeman third in the Baseball Musings Batter Rankings. Ozuna singled and walked on Saturday while Freeman doubled and walked twice as the Red Sox took the game 8-2.

In between sits Jose Ramirez of the Indians who doubled in an 8-0 Pirates win. Jose Abreu of the White Sox sits fourth, as he singles and doubles in five trips to the plate in a 9-5 win over the Cubs. Less than four points separate 1-4 today. Remember, playoff games count for the rankings, and this group will get a chance to keep their point totals rising.

George Springer of the Astros moves into the fifith slot despite getting a day off in a 6-1 Rangers victory. I built in a penalty for only coming to the plate three times in a game (to knock down lower batting order players), and Juan Soto came up just three times in game one of a seven inning contest. Springer does won a twelve game hit streak.
