Late Night Roundup

The Rays defeated the Yankees 7-5 Tuesday night to even their ALDS at one game apiece. The Rays beat the Yankees strategy of starting a right-handed pitcher and quickly substituting in a left-handed pitcher to catch the Tampa Bay in poor platoon situation. JA Happ gave up two home runs, and the Yankees could not mount a decent comeback. Tyler Glasnow of the Rays struck out ten batters in five innings, but still allowed four runs. That was good enough for the win, and the Rays bullpen allowed one run the rest of the way. Both Randy Arozarena and Giancarlo Stanton continued their hot hitting in the post-season.

The Dodgers downed the Padres 5-1 as Los Angeles takes a one games to none lead in their NLDS. The Padres scratched out a 1-0 lead in the fourth inning as Wil Myers walked, stole a base, and scored on a two out single by Austin Nola. The Dodgers tied the game in the bottom of the fifth on an error by Jake Cronenworth.

In the bottom of the sixth, the Dodgers won the game as they scored four runs. A walk and a double set up a sacrifice fly for the go-ahead run, then three two-out hits and a wild pitch brought in three more. The Dodgers drew ten walks in the game and left 11 men on base. Dustin May gets the win for two perfect innings of relief.
