How the Dodgers Won

In a very close NLCS, the Dodgers simply dominated the Braves on offense. Los Angeles hit .254/345/.504 as a team, while Atlanta hit .245/.325/.422. Part of that came from the 15-3 drubbing in the game three Dodgers win, but the Braves did come back with a 10-2 blow out of their own in game four. The Dodgers scored 39 runs to the Braves 33, and each team took home a one-run win.

Home runs turned out to be a huge difference in the series. The Braves hit nine dingers, seven of them solo shots, producing a total of eleven runs. The Dodgers hit sixteen homers, 10 of them solo shots, producing 24 of their runs. Two of the homer were three-run shots, and there was one grand slam. The Dodgers posted a .387 OBP and a .533 slugging percentage with men on base. They kept the line moving, and their power moved runners a long distance.

A big part of that power was Corey Seager, who won the series MVP. Seven of his nine hits went for extra-bases, including five home runs.

The Dodgers field a deep, powerful offense that is difficult to contain. it’s impressive that the Braves went seven games against this team.
